Hi, Karen:
Cheryl and I want to thank you again for taking such good care of us on our trip to Morocco last week. We had a terrific time and were completely taken by charms of this exotic land, just as you promised.
Thought you should know that your guide did right by us. He is knowledgeable, very well spoken, punctual and an excellent driver, a great personalty fit for us. Some days we did not use his services after 2 or 4 in the afternoon, but he always made himself available, even to come back to take us to a restaurant at night (we refused). The meal at Tobsil was wonderful (just voted one of the 12 most romantic restaurants in the world by Conde Naste travel); even better was Dar Marjane. Both incredibly romantic. The Soffitel in Essouria was also lovely, and a nice modern contrast to the Maison Arabe. As to the latter, it is a very fine property. Our room for the first two nights was a bit noisy being on the Courtyard, and we mentioned this as we were departing to Ess.  When we returned they gave us a suite with 2 bathrooms. We were profuse in our thanks and praise. I tipped often while I was there. You might also recommend to Americans traveling to Marrakech Les Bains de Marrakech spa www.lesbainsdemarrakech.com for fine traditional treatments in luxury surroundings.
Let me know if you want any further info/feedback. We hope to use your services again (I would like to visit Fes at some point).
A deep bow, John

Hi Karen,
Thank you so much for helping us plan the trip to Morocco. We had a wonderful time, everyone really enjoyed. All restaurants and hotels were very good, we loved the Marrakesh Hotel L' Mansion they are very nice and the place was beautiful; thank you for the great choices. The thing that really made the trip, though, was Idriss. He was extremely informative, kind, flexible --overall one of the best tour guides we've had of all places we traveled. He was very knowledgeable about the places we visited, gave us great tips, and was a delight to travel with. Once again, thank you very much for the help! We will definitely recommend you to our friends!  All the best,
Valeria

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Morocco! Our driver Hamid was excellent and very courteous.  The program was well balanced and we made sure to make frequent stops at several remote Berber towns.  The Riads and hotels you selected were top notch and the food was quite a feast! I am now going to try a few recipes.  We will always remember our beautiful journey to Morocco! Thanks to you Karen and Karim for all your hard work. Elena

My family enjoyed our vacation in Morocco.  We bought beautiful Berber carpets and the girls can't wait to hang them on their bedrom's walls. Your suggested properties were top notch and above all we will always remember our driver and guide, Majid. He was the BEST! thanks again! Helen

I wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful trip you put together for me.  Your staff in Morocco were so friendly, knowledgeable, and above all always willing to go out of their way. Our group was small and I met new friends from Europe! The food was fantastic and I felt very welcomed everywhere.  Your guide was truly amazing, he spoke 7 languages, I was so impressed! Thanks again for your assistance.  Melinda Salinas

We were very pleased with the program itinerary. It gave us an insight into a great cross-section of the country, from the ancient medinas to the desert and the High Atlas and the coast.  We very much appreciated the choice of Riads: in Fes and Marrakech in particular the accommodation was outstanding.  Our driver, Abdul, was wonderful and a pleasure to be with. We felt very safe with him - he was a very careful driver and obviously knew his way around, both geographically and socially. We were also very impressed with the way the guides appeared on cue in every location and the informed way in which they introduced us to each place. The guide we had in Fes was particularly outstanding.

Thank you,

Elaine and Michael Yeomans

We are back from our wonderful 2 week trip to Morocco. Overall the trip was excellent.  The tours of the various locations were excellent

Villa Mandarine in Rabat was very nice.
Sofitel Palais Jamais in Fez was fabulous.
Tents were great.

Berbere Palace in Ouarzazate was very nice and by report the nicest in the area but it is a bit dated.  One shock I had on the second day at the Berbere Palace was when I had a massage.  I never had a completely nude massage before, especially not with a female massage therapist!  It was a bit weird but I figured if that was the Moroccan way, then so be it.

La Maison Arabe in Marrakech was excellent and had great food.  The special dinner show in Marrakech was not arranged and while the driver (Abdul) stated he could try to arrange it, we decided to forgo the hassle of this.  We personally preferred the Fez medina to the Marrakech medina.  The Djemma el fna was a bit of a disappointment considering it is listed in travel books as the number 1 attraction to see in all of Morocco.  We enjoyed the Atlas film studio tour in Ouarzazate. Our driver, Abdul, was very attentive throughout the trip.  He told us that the president of your company called him one night when we were in Ouarzazate to talk to us (which was very thoughtful and unexpected), but it was 9 PM in Morocco and we were already at the hotel rather than with Abdul.

Gateway2Morocco helped me make excellent pre-tour plans to spend five days in Marrakesh prior to the departure of my 10 day Discover Morocco Tour that originated in Casablanca December 31, 2006.

We traveled throughout the country in a modern mini-bus. The driver and tour guide were outstanding in their fields of expertise. The 4-Star hotels were luxurious and the buffets were delicious. I enjoyed the vegetables, couscous and tagines so much that I bought a Moroccan cookbook, spices, and metric teaspoons so I could cook the dishes at home.

Morocco is a beautiful county and we were able to view it from the coast, the Mid-Atlas and the High Atlas Mountains. Some of the highlights for me were: the Hassan II Great Mosque in Casablanca, the tanner’s souks in Fes, watching the sunrise in the Erg Chebbi Dunes, driving through the Tiz-in-Tichka Pass, the Djemaa El Fna square in Marrakesh and the Ryad Mogador in Essaouira.

We will never forget the trip Gateway2Morocco organized for us. Our driver and guide were outstanding and extremely hospitable. Morocco is simply one of the most beautiful countries on earth! We admired the night under tent in the Merzouga dunes. My wife and kids really enjoyed this vacation and our tour management was top notch. I don’t think we could have done it better without Gateway2Morocco and the fantastic team they have in Morocco! Ashutosh

We've just got back from our trip and so it's time to give you some feedback....We had a great time in Morocco. It was wildly exotic, educational, wonderful and fun.

We were right to choose high-end Riads: they were delightful, Wonderfully furnished, and the staff in each one were attentive, helpful and charming. Each Riad was individually distinctive and it was clear that the owners were determined to make us welcome and comfortable. For us, the riads were an important part of the Moroccan experience, and much more enjoyable than the "global style" hotels.

So we were pleased with the selection of hotels, and were also pleased that the driver recommended and arranged for us to stay at the Tombuctoo in Merzouga rather than driving back to (and then back from) the Xaluca in Erfoud.

The itinerary was well balanced - not changing hotels every day, and Giving us enough time to see quite a lot in the primary cities (Fes, Marakesh). Everything went smoothly and there were no unpleasant incidents. Our driver was very helpful, protective and easy to talk to, though we spoke French most of the time, as he was more comfortable in that language. He drove well, was courteous, and looked after us attentively. The local guides were well informed, helpful and friendly. We were particularly pleased to get close enough to the guides and the driver to be able to learn much more about Islam and its importance in Muslim life – a real education that most westerners could benefit from these days. It left us with considerably greater respect for the people and their religion.

We were particularly interested in the interior decoration – carvings, mosaics etc. in the mosques, riads and mausoleums, and we saw plenty. We also really enjoyed the visit to a Berber home - it was fascinating. Also, the Djemmaa-el-Fna Square was a high-point, especially arriving in the dark in the evening, with the overwhelming vitality of the scene – the crowd, the food, the smells, sounds, lights, music and general vitality.

The Moroccan food was excellent, but the repetitiveness of it was tiresome. In virtually every arranged meal, the menu was the same: an array of "Moroccan salad" dishes, followed by tagine and couscous, the only variation being the occasional addition of a bastilla. These meals were individually well prepared and well presented, especially in the high-end restaurants (Yacout, Maison Bleue), but having the same menu so often was more than we could take; so we were always looking for variety - fish, or European fare.

The shopping was excellent - which means that we contributed a lot to the Moroccan economy, especially the carpet sector!

We would happily have missed the Fantasia production at Borj Bladi: the whole thing was like a parody, with the staff and performers clearly uninterested and unmotivated. We left as quickly as possible.

But all in all, we had a great time, despite the inevitable digestive troubles! And I took hundreds of photos, which is very unusual for me.

Many thanks for your help in putting the trip together.

Best regards,
Ralph

Bill & I arrived in Dallas last night after visiting with relatives in Palermo, Sicily for the week. The rest of the family is still there for a few more days. Our Morocco tour went off without a hitch. You did a great job making sure we were well taken care of and our personal tour manager and guide, Idriss, made the trip that much more memorable with his knowledge and gracious handling of our group. We will not hesitate to recommend you both to our friends. Again, thank you so much for all the care you took to make our visit to Morocco one we will not soon forget. We are available anytime as a reference for your company. Our very warmest regards, Linda Randall

Just a note to let you know that our Morocco vacation was truly a trip of a lifetime. Your guide was truly amazing.  A very well educated and pleasant man to be around.  The vacation and the country of Morocco far exceeded our expectations. The varying landscape of Morocco was just magnificent. The food was great. You can imagine our joint excitement of having a private driver, car, and guides for each city that we visited. We just could not believe how beautiful each city that we visited was. The craftsmanship of the artisans in Morocco was truly unique. We left Morocco with little money but happier because of the experience.

I had a fantastic time in Morocco!! Everything went very smoothly and I will definitely use this company again. I will go back and do the Imperial cities next time. I think the 7 days for the south was a good time. I spoke to several people who were on a 10 day tour doing the north/south and they felt it a little rushed. I enjoyed the small group and the flexibility it gave us during the day. I'm sure much of this was to do with our guide who was really good.

One suggestion I would make is that the option of full board be given, and possibly that the tour is sold as full board. Where the lunch stops are, there is usually no other option and as they are catering for groups it's a hassle to order other meals. I ended up, through the guide, joining the others who had booked full board. All the meals were fantastic! Hotel staff were very friendly & helpful (one Manager let me use the internet in his office as it wasn't offered at the hotel) and the rooms, while some were a little "tired" were always clean.

Our tour guide, Aziz, was very knowledgeable and patient with the group and where possible, did give us options. Everything ran very smoothly. I never felt rushed by him or hassled to purchase anything. Thank you once again and I will definitely recommend your company to anyone traveling to Morocco

We just returned from our grand tour of Morocco and had a fantastic experience. The trip was planned well and we had a wonderful driver and guide, Shakir, who was with us throughout our journey. The hotels were uniformly wonderful, with the exception of Atlas Medina which has problems with staff professionalism. The meals planned for us were also top notch, especially Bo et Zin in Marrakesh. We had an absolutely fantastic guide, Abdul, in Fez, who planned a well paced and full day of touring. He was especially good with our teenaged daughters and provided a very informative and historical tour of the city and was a wonderful helper in our bargaining with merchants. The desert was awesome and we enjoyed our stay there (although the drive there was very long); I would recommend telling people staying at Riad Maria to bring flashlights as the electricity is not on all night long. I highly recommend the dromedary camel ride up the dunes at sunrise. One other thing we noticed is that we needed more cash than we anticipated as many places did not accept credit cards (restaurants and hotels between Fez and Ouarazate).

All in all, we would highly recommend your agency to our friends who wish to travel to Morocco. You were incredibly available in planning the trip and very responsive to our needs. Thank you. The Stevens/McAndrews family

Just wanted to say thanks for all your assistance with my recent vacation... It was an exceptional 10 days… (The country offered) a variety of spectacular experiences.

Everything on the program went quite smoothly and I saw more than I could if I had tackled this incredible country on my own. I like that we were able to visit so many locations and squeezed a lot in a day - including many driving miles! Our tour guide was exceptional and provided comprehensive information about the geography, history and culture. The accommodations were all fine and the meals varied form hotel to hotel. My travel mates were three fun loving Aussies who made this vacation quite memorable.

Overall, the trip exceeded my expectations. Many thanks for your attention and assistance.

The facilities were clean, the food was good, and the guide that we had was very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend the tour to anyone

My husband and I booked (our tour) through the internet. We were exceptionally happy with the entire tour. The standard of Tour Guide was excellent and this is perhaps the most important facet of the trip. Our main guide spoke 11 languages, and his knowledge and experience were amazing. We had 2 other guides- they too were immensely interesting and knowledgeable. We were exposed to and learnt a considerable amount about the history and cultural interests of the five cities we visited. The accommodation was of a high standard throughout the tour. We stayed at 4 star hotels and two nights at a 5 star hotel. Shopping can be of importance on a trip like this and our main guide took us to the authentic shops… Gateway2Morocco was most efficient and responded immediately to our queries on the internet. Hopefully we will be back.
