Bayt Dakira

A restored townhouse in Essaouira dedicated to the city's Jewish heritage and the long, intertwined history of its Muslim and Jewish communities.

Founded by the musician and activist André Azoulay, Bayt Dakira — House of Memory — occupies a beautifully preserved riad in the medina. Its rooms hold photographs, documents, and personal objects that trace centuries of coexistence, making it one of the more quietly moving cultural spaces on Morocco's Atlantic coast.
