A tailor-made Morocco tour is a trip that did not exist before you contacted us. There is no catalogue of fixed departures and no group to join. We start from a blank page: when your flights land and leave, how many nights you have, who is travelling, how fast you like to move and what you care about seeing. Then we draw the route, choose the hotels, book the guides and price it. Two couples asking for the same fourteen days get two different itineraries.
In practice that means your own driver-guide and vehicle for the whole trip, licensed local guides city by city, hotels matched to your taste rather than to a contract we are trying to fill, and an itinerary you can still change on day four. You will see it called custom Morocco tours, bespoke Morocco tours or tailor-made vacations in Morocco. Same thing, and the only way we work.

- Private tour: you pick one of our existing routes and we run it just for you, with your own driver-guide. You can move a night or swap a hotel, but the shape is one we have already proven.
- Tailor-made tour: we design the route from zero because none of ours fits. Flights into Tangier and out of Casablanca, a grandmother and a seven-year-old on the same trip, a honeymoon split between Luxury and Ultra-Luxury, two desert nights instead of one, or a halal itinerary planned around prayer times.

Enquiry. The form on our plan-my-trip page takes about five minutes: rough dates, who is travelling, your travel style, what you want to see and what you would rather skip. No payment details, no obligation.

A call, if you want one. Phone or WhatsApp on +1 (604) 338-9087. We ask what a form cannot: how far you like to walk, whether you are early risers, and whether luxury means a palace or simply quiet. Email-only is fine too.

Your proposal within 48 hours. A day-by-day itinerary with named hotels, the shape of each driving day, what is included and a transparent per-person price. No deposit to request it.

Revisions. Change cities, nights, hotels or pace. Most trips take two or three rounds, typically five to seven days from first enquiry to final itinerary.

Deposit and confirmation. A deposit secures your dates and hotels; the balance is due 90 days before departure, or in full if you confirm inside 90 days. These are our standard terms; the exact terms are the ones in your own proposal and confirmation invoice.

Before you fly. For October to April, Easter, Christmas and New Year, book three to six months ahead; off-peak trips can be confirmed in two to three weeks.

Pace and length
A focused week works if you choose one half of the country; our 7-day Morocco itinerary shows both versions. Fourteen days is where Morocco stops being a race, as our two-week Morocco itinerary shows. Whatever the length, our rule is fewer hotel changes: two nights anywhere you want to explore, three in Fes or Marrakech if medinas are the point, and a slower day after any long drive.
Hotels by travel style
You choose a travel style; we choose from properties we already know and book. Real examples from our library:
- Classic (3.5★): Riad Mazar Fes or Ryad Salama in Fes, Riad Kalaa in Rabat, Barceló Anfa in Casablanca, Dar Meziana in Chefchaouen, Dar L'Oussia in Essaouira, Madu Premium Camp at Erg Chebbi.
- Platinum (boutique): Palais Faraj Suites & Spa in Fes, Hotel la Maison Arabe in Marrakech, Riad Kalaa in Rabat, Le Médina Essaouira Thalassa MGallery in Essaouira.

The desert: Erg Chebbi or Erg Chigaga
Erg Chebbi, at Merzouga, has the tallest dunes most visitors will ever see, around 150 metres, a paved road to the sand and the widest choice of camps. It fits a Fes-to-Marrakech loop. We book Madu Premium Camp or Sahara Stars Camp, or, for anyone who would rather sleep behind walls, Riad Madu, Boutique Hotel Riad Xaluca or Kasbah Hôtel Tombouctou at the edge of the dunes.
Erg Chigaga lies about two hours of 4x4 track beyond M'Hamid. Its dunes are lower, a little over 50 metres, but there are far fewer camps and far more silence. It suits a Marrakech-based trip. Add-ons worth building in
- A cooking class in Fes or Marrakech.
- A hammam: a traditional neighbourhood one with someone to explain it, or a hotel spa.
- A private licensed guide for a full day in the Fes medina instead of a half day, or a second Marrakech day for gardens, architecture or food.
- A hot-air balloon at dawn outside Marrakech.
- A camel ride into camp, or 4x4 all the way if you would rather not ride.

- Families: shorter medina walks, family or connecting rooms, afternoons off, a camel ride and sandboarding at Erg Chebbi.
- Seniors: fewer hotel changes, no early starts, 4x4 access to camp or a kasbah at the dunes, guides who walk at your pace.

Where you start and finish
Most trips open and close in Casablanca, the main international gateway, with Rabat as the first stop. If your flights land in Tangier, we build north-first through Chefchaouen. Worked examplesThree tailor-made trip shapes, with the maths
Shapes, not packages. The maths: days multiplied by your style's per-person daily rate, for two sharing. Groups of four usually pay 10–15% less per person because the vehicle and driver are shared. Your final figure is in your proposal.
1. The unhurried first trip: 12 days, Platinum, two seniors
Arrive in Casablanca and drive on to Rabat for two nights at Riad Kalaa. Three nights in Fes at Palais Faraj Suites & Spa, with the medina split into two half days. Cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane and down the Ziz Valley to Merzouga, the longest drive of the trip, then rest two nights at Kasbah Hôtel Tombouctou, reaching the dunes for sunset by 4x4. One night in the Dades Gorge at Dar Blues, then Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech for three nights at Hotel la Maison Arabe, and a transfer to Casablanca to fly home.
Eleven nights, five hotels, never a one-night stop after a long drive. The maths: 12 days × $390 = $4,680 per person for two sharing. As two couples, roughly $4,000–$4,200 per person.
2. The honeymoon: 11 days, Luxury with a palace finish
Two nights at Hotel la Maison Arabe in Marrakech to land. Over the Tizi n'Tichka to Ouarzazate for a night at Kasbah Tamsna, then down the Draa Valley to M'Hamid and by 4x4 to Erg Chigaga for two nights at Touareg Dream Chigaga Luxury Camp. Back to Ouarzazate for a night at Berbere Palace, through Ait Ben Haddou to two nights at La Mamounia, then two slow nights at Le Médina Essaouira Thalassa MGallery before the drive to Casablanca.
The maths: 11 days × $490 = $5,390 per person in Luxury. La Mamounia is Ultra-Luxury territory, so the difference for those two nights is priced in your proposal. The whole trip at palace level starts from $750 per person per day: from $8,250 per person for 11 days.
3. The family week: 8 days, Classic, four travellers
Casablanca to Rabat for a night at Riad Kalaa, then two nights at Ryad Salama in Fes with a half-day medina guide who knows how to hold a ten-year-old's attention. The long drive south to Merzouga ends with a camel ride at sunset, a night at Madu Premium Camp and sandboarding in the morning. One night in the Dades Gorge, two nights in Marrakech, and home from Casablanca.
The maths: 8 days × $340 = $2,720 per person for two sharing, or roughly $2,310–$2,450 per person as four. Child rates and family rooms are priced in your proposal. We price every custom trip by travel style, per person per day, based on two people sharing. The rate covers your driver-guide and vehicle, hotels, breakfasts, guided visits and desert logistics.

Three things move the number: length, style and group size. Four travellers usually pay 10–15% less per person than two; solo travellers pay a single supplement. Anything outside these styles, such as a palace night on a Luxury trip, is priced in your proposal. Honest opinionsWhat we won't do on a tailor-made tour
- The two-day Marrakech-to-Merzouga-and-back dash. It is roughly 18 hours in a vehicle for one night in the dunes, and people come back tired rather than moved. Give the Sahara two nights from Fes, or choose Erg Chigaga from Marrakech.
- Six cities in seven days. With a week, choose the north or the south. Half of Morocco seen properly beats all of it through a window.
- Fes straight to Ouarzazate. The road over the Middle Atlas and down the Ziz Valley to Merzouga is the reason to be on that side of the country.
- Hotels we don't know. If you ask for somewhere we haven't vetted, we will say so rather than book it blind.
- Shopping stops. Nobody on our payroll is paid to steer you into a carpet showroom.
- Erg Chigaga in high summer, or on a first trip with no slack. The heat and the 4x4 track make it the wrong call.
- Pretending we suit everyone. If you are one person on a tight budget, a good small-group tour can be the smarter buy, and we will tell you so.

A tailor-made tour is designed from zero around your flights, travellers, pace and interests. If one of our published routes is about 80% right, start with it; if you want to change most of it, go tailor-made.
How long does it take to plan a custom Morocco tour?＋
You receive a day-by-day proposal within 48 hours of your enquiry. Most trips then take two or three rounds of changes, typically five to seven days in total. For October to April, Easter, Christmas and New Year, we suggest booking three to six months ahead to secure the best riads. Off-peak trips can be confirmed in as little as two to three weeks.
How many days do I need for a custom Morocco trip?＋
Seven days works if you choose one half of the country, either Marrakech with the Atlas and Sahara or the imperial north. Nine to eleven days covers the imperial cities and the desert comfortably, and for most travellers ten or eleven days is the sweet spot. Fourteen days lets you add Chefchaouen, Essaouira and a genuine day off without rushing anything.
Can I choose my own hotels?＋
Yes. You choose a travel style, and we suggest hotels from the properties we know and book, such as Palais Faraj Suites & Spa in Fes, Hotel la Maison Arabe in Marrakech or La Mamounia at palace level. You can mix styles, request specific properties from our list, or swap any hotel in your proposal. We won't book somewhere we haven't vetted without telling you.
Is a custom tour suitable for families and seniors?＋
Yes, and both are among our most common requests. For families we shorten medina walks, book family or connecting rooms and add camel rides and sandboarding at Erg Chebbi. For seniors we cut hotel changes, avoid early starts and offer 4x4 access to camp or a kasbah at the edge of the dunes. Both travel with the same private driver-guide throughout.
Can you plan a halal or kosher Morocco itinerary?＋
Yes. Halal meat is standard in Morocco, and for halal trips we plan the days around prayer times, Friday prayers and alcohol-free dining, and adjust the pace if you travel during Ramadan. For Jewish heritage trips we include the mellahs of Fes and Marrakech and Casablanca's Museum of Moroccan Judaism, and arrange kosher meals where needed, coordinated with each hotel in advance.

No deposit is needed to request or refine your proposal. When you are ready, a deposit secures your dates and hotels, and the balance is due 90 days before departure, or in full if you confirm inside 90 days. We accept credit card, bank transfer including Wise, and Interac e-Transfer; paying other than by card earns a 3% reduction. Your own proposal and invoice set the exact terms.
