Cementerio Judío de Fez

One of the largest Jewish cemeteries in Morocco, its whitewashed tombs spread quietly across a hillside at the edge of the old city.

The cemetery has served Fes's Jewish community for centuries, and walking among its simple white markers offers a contemplative counterpoint to the medina's noise. Many of the inscriptions are in Hebrew, and the site remains an active place of memory, tended by those who trace their roots to the once-flourishing Mellah nearby.
