Dar Jamai Museum

An ornate 1882 palace on Place el-Hedime, now home to a quietly absorbing collection of traditional Moroccan crafts and textiles.

The building itself earns the visit — carved stucco, painted cedar ceilings and a courtyard garden that slows the pace before you have even reached the first room. Inside, embroideries, ceramics and marquetry work trace the refined domestic culture of old Meknes, displayed in rooms that once served as private reception halls for a powerful nineteenth-century family.
