Spa Half-Day and Poolside Lunch at La Maison Arabe

Every good journey needs one slow day. After the long drive back from the Sahara, or on your last day before flying home, this is the one we plan in Marrakech: two unhurried hours in La Maison Arabe’s hammam and treatment rooms, then lunch by the pool.

The Imperial ritual

A full hammam with kessa scrub, a honey and orange-blossom body mask, a polish with geranium-scented sea salt, a radiance facial and a relaxing massage — followed by a light, healthy lunch served beside the pool.

Shorter options

The Royal session (about 90 minutes) keeps the hammam, the ghassoul mask and a sesame-oil hair treatment, and finishes with an argan-oil massage. The Marhaba session (about an hour) — hammam, black-soap scrub, ghassoul and a half-hour massage — is the perfect way to shake off an arrival flight.

For two

The Sea Salt session is designed for couples, with a geranium sea-salt scrub, a hair treatment and a relaxing massage for each of you.

Our tip

Book it for the day after your desert circuit ends in Marrakech, and keep the evening free for a rooftop dinner. If you are staying at La Maison Arabe, the spa is a few steps from your room; if not, we arrange the transfer from your riad.

1991–2020 averages for Marrakech. Best = daytime 20–29 °C (68–84 °F) and fairly dry — plus May and September, which we rate excellent everywhere. June is warm but good; July and August are the hot months inland. Hot months still work if you plan around the heat — early starts, pools, the coast and the mountains.

Book ahead: High season is March–May, September–November and 15 December–10 January. The most beautiful riads and boutique hotels sell out early, so for these dates we recommend booking several months ahead.
