Rabat, not Marrakech, is Morocco's capital — a coastal city of ministries, gardens and the unfinished Hassan Tower, and one of the most underrated stops in the country. Most of our itineraries pass through it on the way north to Fes, and Ottawa clients tend to appreciate it more than most. If you want a longer stay there, say so and we will build it in.
French is widely spoken across Morocco, which makes it an unusually comfortable destination for francophone travellers. We plan in French or English, and can assign French-speaking licensed guides in every city on your route. Ask when you request your proposal.
Ontario health coverage provides essentially nothing outside Canada. Private travel insurance with at least CA$2 million in emergency medical is strongly recommended. Buy within 72 hours of paying your tour deposit so pre-existing-condition stability clauses begin working in your favour.
Morocco is 4 to 5 hours ahead of Eastern Time depending on the season — one of the gentlest time changes available on a long-haul trip, and a genuine argument for Morocco over Southeast Asia if jet lag is a concern. Morocco does not follow North American daylight saving the same way Ontario does, so the exact gap shifts by an hour at certain points in the year.
A large share of Ottawa travellers work to fixed leave windows — March break, the summer shutdown, the end of the fiscal year. Those are also Morocco's busiest weeks. If your dates are immovable, come to us early: spring departures in particular book out four to six months ahead, and the riads worth staying in are the first to go.
